1. Information we collect

Launch-notification form

If you submit the launch update form, we collect the email address you enter and a page-source value showing whether the form was submitted near the top or bottom of the home page. Netlify Forms processes the submission on our behalf and may add technical or spam-prevention metadata associated with the request.

Submitting the form is optional. The Website remains available if you do not provide an email address.

Hosting and request information

Netlify hosts the Website and, like most hosting providers, processes ordinary request and security information needed to deliver and protect it. This can include IP address, browser and device type, operating system, requested page, referring page, approximate location inferred from IP, request time, and security or error events.

Cookies, analytics, and browser storage

The Website does not currently run an advertising network, analytics SDK, tracking pixel, session-replay tool, or behavioural profiling service. Its own code does not set analytics or advertising cookies and does not use local storage to track visitors. Your browser or network provider may still use its own storage or request data under its own policies.

2. How we use information

We use Website information to:

• send the Underway launch or availability notice you requested;
• receive, filter, and protect forms from spam and abuse;
• host, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Website;
• respond to privacy or support correspondence; and
• comply with law and protect rights, safety, and the service.

Where law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent to send the requested launch communication; our legitimate interests in hosting, securing, and maintaining the Website where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and legal obligations where applicable. You can withdraw consent at any time as described below.

3. Service providers and other disclosures

Netlify hosts the Website, receives launch-form submissions, and provides spam and security controls. Netlify acts as our service provider for submitted form content and may use subprocessors under its data-processing terms.

We do not sell or rent Website personal information. We do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising. We may disclose limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer. A successor must honour this policy for information received or give notice of a material change.

4. Retention and deletion

Launch-notification email

Kept until we send the requested launch notice or for 24 months after submission, whichever comes first, then deleted within 90 days unless you separately ask to receive further communication.

Hosting and security data

Retained by Netlify under its service retention schedules. We do not create a separate visitor profile from hosting request logs.

Privacy and support correspondence

Normally kept for up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless law requires longer retention.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in isolated encrypted backups until the provider’s backup cycle expires. It is not used for ordinary business purposes while awaiting expiry.

5. Your choices and privacy rights

You can ask us not to send the launch notice or ask us to delete your submission at any time.Contact us about privacy. Include the email address you submitted so we can locate it.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of personal information; to restrict or object to processing; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

6. Security and international processing

We use HTTPS/TLS, restricted account access, a form honeypot, and hosting security controls appropriate to the Website’s limited data. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Underway is operated from Canada. Netlify and its subprocessors may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from yours. Where required, we rely on contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.

7. Children

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect a child’s personal information without valid parental authorization where required. If you believe a child has submitted an email address improperly, contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Website, providers, or legal requirements change. We will change the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required for a material change.
